When reimagining our wildly popular Presidential Suite, our design team was inspired by the vibrant colors and boundless energy of our beloved island of Key West. This suite, with panoramic views of stunning turquoise ocean deserved a unique style all its own!
A Curated Re-Design
Ocean Key guests crave the unapologetic, quirky lifestyle of our island. Knowing that, our team solicited feedback to ask, “just how far we should go?” No surprise to us, the overwhelming response was “until its almost TOO much!” As you can imagine, our designers were happy to accommodate.
At Ocean Key Resort, we are known for making big and bold design choices that we use throughout the property. So, re-imagining the Presidential Suite was a designer’s dream project.
The Exciting Results
The joyful result is carefully curated and meant to evolve over time. Our designers and executives often travel to inspiring locations, many of which are home to our other hotels and resorts. We frequently receive photos and suggestions stating, “wouldn’t this be great in the Flamingo Royale?” This is further evidence of the happiness that one feels when entering this vibrant suite.
The design, dubbed “Tropical Camp” incorporates countless playful moments. To mention just a few, the suite embellishments include dramatic handmade wallpaper, vibrant walls in dark teal, custom fabric sporting pink, turquoise, lime, and gold, a show-stopping brass chandelier, and a collection of one-of-a-kind accent pillows.
The Pinnacle of Paradise
Make no mistake, the Flamingo Royale is the pinnacle of luxury on this magical island. This suite features a huge oceanfront balcony which spans the entire length of the suite. Stunning vaulted ceilings, two master bedroom suites, a black marble wet bar, and a dining room area for four, are just a few.

Local Artwork
We will soon reveal all new local artwork in our coveted Flamingo Royale Suite! Amanda Johnson’s amazing paintings are currently being installed throughout the suite. Amanda’s vibrant “Tropical Impressionist” style has long been sought after by art lovers around the world. We knew that Amanda’s works would be the perfect addition to our suite, so we are over-the-moon to be featuring her work. Clearly, this will be an ever-changing display of Amanda’s talent as several guests have already purchased pieces right from the suite. Be sure to see Amanda’s work at the Madda Fella Boutique located in our lobby or visit Amanda at her gallery on Fleming Street in Key West.
